City Utility Safety Notification
The City is aware that several homes in the landslide area have installed, without permits, alternative utilities such as generators, propane conversions, solar, and holding tanks in response to recent utility shutoffs. Improperly installed equipment may cause fire, electrocution, or other health and safety threats.
Residents who have already installed or plan to install alternative utilities MUST obtain a no-cost, expedited permit and follow-up inspection from the City’s Building and Safety Division. This is critical to ensure the health and safety of all residents in your neighborhood.
