$10,000 Financial Assistance Grant Program

Below are details and a link for the $10,000 Financial Assistance grant from LA County that is being administered by the city of RPV. The finance department will be onsite at Ladera Linda 1-7pm next Wednesday (and during the community dinner 5-7pm) to help with applications or distribute checks (to those who apply online in advance). 


Financial Assistance Grant Program

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes is administering an emergency financial assistance program that allocates $2.8 million in landslide relief funding from the office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn to deliver immediate aid to City residents impacted by land movement and utility shutoffs. Through this program, the City can provide up to $10,000 to each eligible affected property owner, with an estimated total of $2.8 million allocated for up to 280 eligible homeowners.

Purpose

The $10,000 grant is funded by the Fourth District Supervisor Janice Hahn as a Social Program. The grant program is to provide financial assistance to property owners affected by the Portuguese Bend Landslide. 

Eligibility

Eligible Costs

Eligible expenses may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supplies and equipment due to utility shutoffs.

  • Home repair and hardening measures that allow residences to remain occupied.

  • Housing expenses including, but not limited to, temporary housing, storage expenses, utility bills.

Eligible Property Owners Residing In:

  • Portuguese Bend Community Association, including surrounding properties.

  • Seaview

  • Portuguese Bend Beach Club

  • Payments will be disbursed approximately a week after a complete packet is submitted.

  • Required documents:

  • Copy of Proof of Government Issued-ID

  • Receipts or a Personal Statement: 

  • (1) Eligible applicants may submit receipts for eligible costs; 

  • OR (2) Eligible applicants may choose an option in the application for a sworn statement confirming the expenses are eligible costs.
